The idea for this radio station was conceived in 2002 by T. Burke Buchanan. A construction permit was received from the FCC in January 2003 and WDSG LP FM was born!
On a Friday afternoon, June 6th, 2003, WDSG began broadcasting. The first live radio show was hosted by T. Burke Buchanan whose guests included veterans having experienced the D-Day invasion. Frank Pruitt and Broadway Mayor Harold Harrington were among the guests. That first day of broadcasting was also special because it was simulcast over TV station WBF TV 46. Broadcasting has been continuous since that date and time.
It is our desire to continue serving the people of Sanford and Lee County as their local FM radio station. All programming is brought to our listeners by the family of T. Burke Buchanan in his loving memory.
